2 T butter or margarine
1 c raw regular white rice
4 c milk
2″ cinnamon stick
1 c heavy cream
1 t salt
2 T sugar
1 t vanilla extract
Melt 1 T butter in a 3-qt saucepan. Add rice and 1 c water; bring to boiling. Boil, uncovered, 5 to 10 minutes or until water is evaporated. Add milk and cinnamon stick; simmer slowly, uncovered, 35-40 minutes, or until rice is tender, stirring occasionally. Gently stir in cream, salt, sugar, vanilla, and rest of butter. Serve warm.
