The Brownies recipe is one of my mothers. So you see it is an oldie.

⅓ c butter
⅓ c sugar
⅓ c molasses
1 egg
pinch of salt
1 scant cup of flour
1 cup nut meats, chopped (can get by with less)
Bake at 350°, and check at 10 minutes. They are done when a slight finger pressure leaves no impression — or use a tester of your choice.
I use old-fashioned small tins because I inherited them, but the batter can be spread in a flat tin and then cut as you wish.
