Mix:
⅓ c shortening
1 c sugar
1 egg
1 c milk
1½ T vanilla
2 c sifted flour
1¼ t baking soda
½ t salt
5 T cocoa (sifted)
Filling:
¾ c shortening (Crisco)
¾ c confectioner’s sugar, sifted
2 t vanilla
3–4 drops almond extract (opt)
¼ jar marshmallow Fluff
Mix first five ingredients, then add remaining dry ingredients. Mix until very smooth. Drop by teaspoonful on ungreased baking sheet, 4 inches apart. Bake at 375° for 10 minutes. Makes 36 halves.
When pies are cook, spread filling between two halves.
