Scalloped Potatoes

Preheat oven to 350°.  Butter a casserole dish (I use a round 1½ quart that’s about 5-6” deep).  Layer with thinly sliced potato, salt, pepper, flour, dots of butter, thinly sliced onion, thinly sliced ham, dollops of goat cheese.  Repeat until 1½” below top.  Pour milk or a combination of milk and half and half over until mixture is covered.  Dot with butter.  Bake for about an hour until potatoes are soft.  A wonderful one dish meal.
